Nominations Open: Staff Council Endowed Book Fund, Mentor Awards

Besides providing resources and networking opportunities to University employees, the Staff Council also grants awards to foster professional development, recognize mentorship and enable educational book purchases.

Endowed Book Fund

Made possible by the generosity of University staff members, the Staff Council Endowed Book Fund Awards are given to qualified undergraduate students enrolled at any Pitt campus whose parent or guardian is a staff member. The awards are presented each year at the Chancellor’s Staff Recognition Ceremony and can be used to purchase books or educational supplies. This year, Staff Council is proud to offer two $500 awards.

Applications must be received before 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8. Visit the Staff Council website to review eligibility requirements and to apply.

Mentor Award

The University of Pittsburgh Staff Council Mentor Award showcases the positive effects mentors have in the lives of employees by acknowledging impactful work and interactions, both within and outside of the University workplace. This award aims to celebrate the scope and depth of mentorship—helping with professional development, providing opportunities, fostering meaningful networking or simply being an ally. Mentors could include coworkers, supervisors or colleagues.
