Open Education Resource Grant Proposals Now Accepted

To support the development of open education resources (OER), the Office of the Provost is providing funding for faculty to adapt, adopt and/or create OER for an existing course. Proposals are due Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020.

Open education resources are high-quality curricular materials—textbooks, lab notebooks, videos—that are free to students at Pitt and other institutions and allow legal permission for open use and adaptation. Open use means that anyone is free to retain, reuse, revise, remix and redistribute these educational materials as long as attribution is made to the original creator/author.

Both tenured and non-tenured faculty on all campuses may apply individually or as a team, and the University Center for Teaching and Learning and University Library System are available for help with developing grants.

Learn about the 30 previously funded projects at the OER Grants 2019 page. For information on funding range, eligibility and more, visit the OER funding application.
