Partnering to Perform Research at the International Space Station

Join the University’s Office of Economic Partnerships as it welcomes the Center for Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) for an informative discussion and networking session on Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 1:30-5 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 3454 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh, PA  15213.

CASIS manages and funds the ISS research facility. The organization promotes and brokers a diverse range of research in life sciences, physical sciences, remote sensing, technology development and education.

  • An overview of the CASIS program presented by Dr. Jonathan Volk, CASIS commercial innovation manager
  • Principle investigators from the University of Pittsburgh will discuss the process of working with CASIS
  • Representatives from industry will present the economics of doing research in space
  • Networking reception featuring light refreshments
