Pitt Law Librarian to Speak on How Families Can Navigate Mental Illness and Law

Join Pitt law librarian Linda Tashbook as she speaks about her new book, “Family Guide to Mental Illness and the Law,” at Pittsburgh Arts and Lectures at the Carnegie Library Lecture Hall in Oakland on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m.

Tashbook will demonstrate ways that friends and family members can help to avoid and alleviate injustices that face adults who live with mental illness. Additionally, she’ll describe the process of researching, writing and editing her book, which explains dozens of legal topics in plain-English and helps readers figure out what to do when legal issues arise in connection with family members who experience mental illness.

Tashbook has been a law librarian at the School of Law for more than twenty years. She chairs the University Senate committee on benefits and welfare and she established and also chairs the Mental Wellness Task Force.

There is no charge for this program, but please register online at Pittsburgh Arts & Lectures.
