Staff Council Events in October and Beyond

On Wednesday, Oct. 16, join the University’s Staff Council in 102 Benedum Hall from noon to 1 p.m. for its general meeting. Staff members are encouraged to attend to learn about Pitt and share ideas and concerns; it’s also a great opportunity to network with staff colleagues.

One way to stay up-to-date on events, news, discounts and issues that affect Pitt staff is to sign up for the Staff Council monthly newsletter. Visit staffcouncil.pitt.edu/news/newsletter to sign up and to check out newsletter archives.

October’s meeting will feature guest speaker Carol Martin-Mack, on-site health coach for the Healthy U Faculty and Staff Development Program. Martin-Mack will discuss various aspects of health and wellness, including fitness and nutrition.

There will be another general meeting on November 20 at noon in Benedum Hall; read more details at the University Calendar

Walking tours

In collaboration with the Pitt Alumni Association’s Blue and Gold Society, Staff Council is hosting Pittsburgh campus tours. While the tours are primarily intended for newer staff members, they are open to all staff members regardless of their tenure. Blue and Gold Society student ambassadors will lead the 60-minute walking tour of lower campus, weaving through building interiors, describing present uses and sharing historical facts. Read more in the University Times.

The next tour will take place on Thursday, Oct. 17 and begin at 12:30 p.m. from the Pitt Alumni Association offices at 140 Alumni Hall. Register online now.
