Thornburgh Lecture to Address Redistricting Legislative Maps

Next week, the Thornburgh Forum’s Discussions on Governance Lecture Series will welcome David Thornburgh, president and CEO of election reform nonprofit The Committee of Seventy, for a keynote address on state redistricting reform. The lecture, titled “Drawing the Lines: How Redistricting Reform Will Improve Pennsylvania and Restore Citizen’s Trust in Government,” will discuss growing interest among legislators and citizens in redrawing legislative maps.

In 2018, the Committee of Seventy created the statewide public mapping competition Draw the Lines PA to encourage residents to draw their own congressional maps. More than 5,000 residents as young as 14 participated in the event.

The lecture will take place on Thursday, Jan. 30, from noon to 1 p.m. in the University Club, Ballroom B. Registration for the lecture is requested. Refreshments will be served. Details about the event are available online.
