United Way Campaign Updates, Prize Winners for Dec. 14

The Pitt United Way Campaign has raised nearly $540,000 through faculty, staff, retiree and special events donations. The University has now achieved more than 72 percent of its overall $750,000 goal.

Deadline for donation via payroll deduction approaching

This Friday, Dec. 21, is the final day Pitt employees can make donations online via payroll deduction.

Following this deadline, employees will still be able make credit card and bill-me transactions online. Additionally, paper pledge forms can be used for all transactions, including payroll deductions.

The United Way campaign will accept donations through the end of March 2019, and programming —including the Re-Gift and Thrift Sale and other events — will continue during the spring 2019 semester.

Re-Gift and Thrift Sale

The Re-gift and Thrift Sale will take place on Friday, Jan. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Cathedral of Learning Commons Room.

If you have gently used and clean books, electronics, clothing, toys, home goods or sports equipment, you can use donation bins in Soldiers and Sailors, O'Hara and Posvar garages on Wednesday, Dec. 19, and Thursday, Dec. 20, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

How to donate

The United Way Campaign website has information about how you can donate to support the Pitt campaign.

Options include payroll deduction, credit card, check or even by mail.

Donors can contribute to the United Way Impact Fund, through which the United Way targets funds to support the local agencies that serve populations facing the most critical current needs, or donors can instead choose from hundreds of local and regional organizations to direct their contributions toward.

Donation code supports Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh

The United Way established an impact fund donation code that supports the Our Victims of Terror Fund at the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh and 100 percent of dollars collected are sent to the fund. Participation online or via pledge form will be counted as part of the Pitt United Way Campaign. Search for the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh - Our Victims of Terror Fund or use the code 14576474.
