Annual Holiday Toy, Winter Essentials Drives

Share joy and warmth this season by adding one more gift to your shopping list.

If you would like to volunteer for the annual Christmas Day at Pitt event, volunteer sign-up can be found online.

The annual Community and Governmental Relations’ (CGR) holiday gift drive is taking place now through Friday, Dec. 14. Gifts will be distributed to children at Christmas Day at Pitt, the University’s annual event where meals and holiday gifts are shared with those in need, and to community partners.

Gifts should be new, unopened and have a retail value of between $20 to $25. They should be wrapped as a holiday present with a visible and secure tag containing information about the appropriate recipient’s age and gender for the gift. For details and gift tags, contact CGR by email at cgrinfo@pitt.edu or phone at 624-7755. Drop off gifts at the Office of Community and Governmental Relations in 710 Alumni Hall or contact CGR to arrange for a departmental pick up of 10 or more gifts.

Additionally, new and unused hats, scarves, gloves and socks are being collected to help bring warmth to Pittsburgh neighbors of all ages. Apparel will be given to those in the community who need them most, including attendees at the annual Christmas Day at Pitt event and those identified by local partner organizations. Donations will be accepted until Friday, Dec. 14.

Please note that used items cannot be accepted.
