Applications Accepted for Provost’s Award for Diversity in the Curriculum

The Provost’s Award for Diversity in the Curriculum formally recognizes the efforts of faculty members to integrate diversity and inclusion into their courses and curriculum. Sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the University Center for Teaching and Learning, the award recognizes excellence in areas such as updated curriculum, expanded cultural awareness, development of teaching methods that are especially inclusive and interactive, consciously created learning environments that are welcoming and inclusive, and other changes that positively impact aspects of diversity and inclusion in the classroom.

Full- and part-time faculty who have participated in the Provost’s Diversity Institute for Faculty Development and/or other diversity sessions across campus, and who have made efforts to enhance diversity in the curriculum or create an inclusive classroom environment, may apply or be nominated for the award.

Nominations will be accepted between Sept. 7 and Oct. 7, 2018. A selection committee will review applications and recommend award winners to the provost. Recipients will be honored at an annual diversity recognition luncheon attended by fellow faculty and University leaders and will each receive a certificate and a $1,000 cash award. Up to three awards will be given annually.

Details about the award and an online application are available on Diversity in the Curriculum webpage .
