Apply for Staff Professional Development Awards

Applications are now being accepted for the Staff Professional Development Awards in Honor of Ronald W. Frisch. Established in 2016 in honor of Frisch, who contributed support to the Staff Council as an advisor and mentor while serving as vice chancellor of human resources, the Staff Development Awards defray the cost of approved professional development opportunities for eligible Pitt staff members.

Applications are open to full- and part-time staff members at any Pitt campus, and awards can be used for professional development activities such as attendance at workshops or professional conferences or tuition for classes or training.

Applications are due by Friday, April 5; recipients will be announced at the annual Staff Spring Assembly in May. Read more about the awards and eligibility criteria, as well as past recipients.

Since the award’s inception in 2016 following a successful EngagePitt fundraising campaign, Staff Council has sought to increase the award’s capacity to support professional opportunities for the more than 7,000 classified staff members across the institution. Further donations have come from the Pitt Day of Giving event, and anyone interested in supporting the fund can select the Ronald W. Frisch Professional Development Award under Pitt Programs and Experiences at giveto.pitt.edu.
