Details for Annual Staff Performance Appraisals Program

The Staff Performance Appraisal Program is a valuable way for staff members and supervisors to work together to evaluate staff performance and create a success plan for the staff member’s future at Pitt. The program allows staff members to define clear personal and professional goals, open ongoing communication with their supervisor and develop an improvement plan for the next fiscal year.

To learn more about the staff appraisal process, review the memo from Cheryl Johnson, vice chancellor of human resources. The deadline for the Annual Staff Performance Appraisal Program is June 30, 2019.

The Staff Self-Appraisal form, Staff Performance Appraisal form, the optional Annual Goals form and detailed guidelines for the performance management process are all available from the Office of Human Resources’ website at hr.pitt.edu/managers.

Additionally, the Manager’s Performance Management Toolkit and the Staff Members Guide on Preparing for a Performance Review are helpful in constructing an optimal performance evaluation dialogue.
