Events Honoring Veterans Taking Place Across Campuses

Monday, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day. Join members of the Pitt community in honoring veterans through activities like lunches, keynote presentations and other programming in Pittsburgh and at the Pitt regional campuses.

Join the Office of Veterans ServicesOffice of Diversity & InclusionPitt Police Department and the Three Rivers Army and Detachment 730 Air Force ROTC Battalions at the second annual Pitt Military Community Appreciation Breakfast on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon. The event will take place in the University Club, Ballroom B, and feature a keynote speech by Pitt Law alum and U.S. Marine Corps Major General Daniel J. Lecce.

Connect with the Pitt Vets community over coffee at Panera Bread at 3800 Forbes Avenue on Friday, Nov. 8, at 9-11:00 a.m. All who are interested are welcome to attend and engage with veteran faculty, staff, and students.

Regional campus programming

Beginning Monday, Nov. 11, through Friday, Nov. 15, Pitt–Greensburg will offer a weeklong series of activities supported by a 2019 Pitt Seed Grant. Programming will feature special exhibits of uniforms and a Roll of Honor at Millstein Library; a keynote speech by Pitt–Greensburg student Jacob Snyder, a U.S. Army retiree currently studying history and political science; and other events. Pitt–Johnstown President Jem Spectar invites the Pitt–Johnstown community to a Veterans Day tribute at The Heroes Memorial on Monday, Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m. The tribute will include the placing of a wreath by the MountainCat Veterans Program.

Pitt–Bradford students, faculty or staff members who are veterans or currently serving in the military are invited to the Veteran’s Day Honor Breakfast. For more information or to RSVP, visit the Facebook event page.

At Pitt–Titusville, on Monday, Nov. 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., veterans and active duty personnel with valid IDs will receive a 10% discount at the campus dining hall.
