Interim Executive Director Appointed to Pitt–Titusville Hub

Karen Enos

Karen Enos, a longtime educator and former superintendent of the Titusville Area School District, has been appointed interim executive director of Titusville’s new Education and Training Hub.

“I am so pleased that Karen has accepted the invitation to serve in this role and have no doubt that she will be a tremendous asset as we move forward with launching the hub at Titusville,” said Catherine Koverola, president of the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville. “As an educator for more than 30 years, Karen has dedicated her career to ensuring that students reach their fullest potential.”

Koverola will introduce Enos at a community celebration on the Titusville campus at 1 p.m. Oct. 4, at which time Koverola and Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor Ann E. Cudd will give an update on the new Education and Training Hub.

Community members and regional business and industry leaders are invited to a presentation and celebration to learn more about the progress that has been made in the development of the Education and Training Hub.

The event begins at 1 p.m. Oct. 4 in Henne Auditorium in the Broadhurst Science Center on the Titusville campus. A reception will follow.

Full details about the event are available online.

Enos will work closely with the three partners that have joined with the University to further develop the hub. Those partners, the University of Pittsburgh’s Manufacturing Assistance Center, the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College, and Manchester Bidwell Corp., will provide education and job training programs to meet the educational needs of the six-county region beginning August 2020.

Enos served as Titusville’s school superintendent, retiring on June 30 after 13 years. The daughter of educators, Enos spent more than 30 years in education, beginning her career in 1988 when she started as an art teacher at Rocky Grove High School in Franklin. In addition to teaching art, she was a member of the student assistance team, a peer mentor and served as a class advisor and coach.

Enos will serve in the role until May 31, 2020. A search for her successor will commence in the spring.
