Lunchtime Create Breaks at the Center for Creativity

With summer beginning, the Center for Creativity wants to help employees explore new and creative pursuits with Thursday lunchtime sessions at its workshop located in lower level of the University Store on Fifth.

These workshops are perfect for people of all skill levels and focus on simple but creative projects like pop-up cards and needle felting.

Construction materials, supplies and refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is required. Online registration is available at the University Calendar, which can be accessed by clicking on each of the events listed below.  

Pop-Up Cards
Thursday, June 6; noon-1:30 p.m.

Try your hand at creating pop-up cards using scissors, glue sticks and card stocks. Learn the basics of creating both 3D cards and envelopes to hold them.

Upcycled Yard Sculpture
Tuesday, June 11; noon-1:30 p.m.

Featuring the use of cork, metal, wood and other parts from the center’s Recreate wall, participants will create unique 3D sculptures for use outdoors.

Felting Creatures
Thursday, June 20; noon-1:30 p.m.

Learn the basics of using a needle to create structure and simple shapes using fabrics like wool and felt.
