Maggie & Stella’s Cards & Gifts Re-opens

If you’re looking for an array of gifts ranging from simple, moderately priced baubles to elegant, higher-end merchandise, Maggie & Stella’s Cards & Gifts has reopened at a new location next to the University Store on Fifth, at 3925 Fifth Ave.

To celebrate, stop by the store on Friday, Sept. 14, from noon-6 p.m. for a grand re-opening party, complete with an in-store DJ and light refreshments, as well as Pitt’s new food truck, Panther Grille, parked in Schenley Quad. In addition to giveaways throughout the day, you’ll also be able to try your luck in a raffle.

Beyond greeting cards and stationary, the store features gifts for the home, men’s and women’s accessories and work by local Pittsburgh artists. Established in the winter of 2005, the shop is named for Margaret and Stella Stein, the first women to enter what was then called Western University of Pennsylvania in 1895, where they studied mathematics in addition to astronomy and surveying and returned for their master’s degrees in 1901.
