A new Forbes Avenue crosswalk and signal is expected to be fully operational by the end of this week, according to Pitt Police.

The new signal, located outside David Lawrence Hall at 3942 Forbes Ave., was initially set to flash to help acclimate motorists and the community to the new signal. 

Crews are scheduled Wednesday, March 27, to paint stop bars and crosswalk markings, and then PennDOT will start a 30-day test to ensure the signal functions properly. To help you stay safe, Pitt Police encourages everyone to always cross streets within marked crosswalks. This is where drivers expect pedestrians.
