Pitt Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Beginning Sept. 15, the Pitt community is invited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, a month full of events and programming that focus on the social, cultural, educational and advocacy issues impacting the 58.5 million Hispanic/Latinx people living in the U.S.

A University-wide committee, chaired by Gina Garcia and the Latino Student Association (LSA), includes representatives from across the campus, as well as from local organizations and other colleges and universities in Pittsburgh.

Among the variety of events planned for the month are a photography exhibit in Hillman Library and a Riverhounds Hispanic Heritage Night soccer game special offer.

Visit the Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s website for more information about the history of Hispanic Heritage Month and to check out the full calendar of events (with more to come!).
