Pitt–Greensburg Art Show Seeks Submissions

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg is seeking submissions to its third annual art show as part of its Blue & Gold Celebration 2019 – Pitt–Greensburg’s annual party featuring a series of events like golf outings, blood drives and a bonfire. The exhibit will run from Friday, Sept. 27, through Pitt-Greensburg’s Founders’ Day on Thursday, Oct. 10.

The Art Show @ Pitt–Greensburg welcomes anyone within the Pitt community and the surrounding communities (including those of all Pitt campuses) who would like to submit artwork or visit the exhibit. This year, in addition to a general category that awards prizes based on fan favorites, the show will feature three judges who will evaluate pieces for special recognition.

“The Art Show @ Pitt-Greensburg is open to all skill levels and ages,” said Julia Sefcheck, alumni engagement officer at Pitt–Greensburg. “We’ve added the judged category this year because there was interest from the professional artists who have participated to have this opportunity. In keeping with the show’s overall purpose of showcasing the talent of our region, the general category provides a venue for artists within the Pitt community and surrounding communities to share their work.”

Artwork will be available for viewing during normal hours of operation at Millstein Library. Some pieces, as designated by the artists, will be available for sale. A reception to announce the winners and is open to the public will be held Friday, Oct. 4, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
