Showcasing the Year of PittGlobal

On Wednesday, April 24, from 4 to 5 p.m., join the Pitt and public communities for a showcase highlighting the projects, research and work of the Year of PittGlobal. Taking place on the first floor Galleria of Wesley W. Posvar Hall, the event will feature a poster session and light refreshments.

Speakers will include Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor Ann E. Cudd and Vice Provost for Global Affairs Ariel Armony. Randall Halle, Klaus W. Jonas Professor of German Film and Cultural Studies, and University Center for International Studies Executive Director for Global Engagement Belkys Torres will also speak at the event; Halle and Torres serve as co-chairs the Year of PittGlobal committee.

Celebrating the idea of Pitt being at home in the world and promoting the University as a global convening point, the Year of PittGlobal has featured funding opportunities and programming that help the University community in a global context.

Torres said that the Year of PittGlobal has been “a resounding success.” Programming throughout the year has highlighted the impact of Pitt faculty, staff and students in the world through dance performances and panel discussions, among other special events.
