TIAA CEO Emphasizes Taking Advantage of Financial Resources at Pitt

Roger FergusonRoger Ferguson, CEO of TIAA, the University’s retirement savings plan provider, spoke to University faculty and staff recently about trends in technology and demographics, specific challenges to retirement and the concrete steps people can take when investing.

In particular, he noted how unique Pitt’s Write Your Own Financial Story retirement savings program is. With close partnership with TIAA, the program provides employees who participate in Pitt’s Retirement Savings Plan personalized recommendations.

He also emphasized taking advantage of all the financial resources that Pitt makes available to employees, including financial literacy webinars, on-campus events and wellness campaigns. Additionally, Pitt employees have access to individualized information sessions with TIAA consultants (sign up online). Ferguson recommends that all employees take advantage of these: “It’s important to talk to a financial advisor who can help you look at your overall financial picture and give you personalized recommendations.”
