Virtual Sessions Provide Student Loan and Wellness Resources

Through the end of April, webinars on a variety of themes, including financial literacy and health and wellness, are available to faculty and staff.

Student loan assistance program webinar

In February, the Office of Human Resources (OHR) launched a new student loan assistance program in collaboration with TIAA and public benefit company Savi. Pitt faculty and staff members now have access to the service, which helps in navigating and applying for repayment plans and federal student loan programs, like the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

Due to the changing circumstances around the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Pittsburgh is waiving the Savi program’s registration fee through the end of Dec. 31, 2020. Additionally, OHR will soon provide guidance on the PSLF changes under the CARES Act.

Savi and TIAA are hosting a live webinar on Wednesday, April 22, from 7 to 8 p.m. for individuals who would like to learn more about Savi, get answers to questions about the program and learn how to participate. Register for the upcoming live webinar online. Please note that these webinars are not Pitt-specific and are open to anyone.

TIAA consultations

TIAA will continue to offer virtual one-on-one counseling sessions with financial consultants to Pitt faculty and staff during this time.

Consider speaking with a TIAA representative to discuss your financial situation and retirement savings goals at no extra cost to you. To schedule an appointment, visit TIAA’s website for consultation options or call 800-732-8353.

Life Solutions webinars

Life Solutions’ “Birth Order: Behavioral Traits that Affect Your Life and Work” webinar will teach participants the connection between birth order and relationships and behavioral styles.

More information about upcoming webinars is available on the OHR Events page.
