United Way Fund Set Up to Support Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh

How to donate

The United Way Campaign website has information about how you can donate to support the Pitt campaign.

Options include payroll deduction, credit card, check or even by mail.

Donors can contribute to the United Way Impact Fund, through which the United Way targets funds to support the local agencies that serve populations facing the most critical current needs. To donate to support the Tree of Life recovery, search for the “Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh Our Victims of Terror Fund” or code #14576474.

Donors may also choose from hundreds of local and regional organizations to direct their contributions toward.

Faculty and staff members who wish to participate in the Pitt United Way Campaign may direct their donation to support the victims and families impacted by the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill.

A new United Way Impact Fund code has been established to support the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh’s Our Victims of Terror Fund. All dollars collected will be sent directly to the fund and will support psychological services, support for families, general services, reconstruction, additional security throughout the community and medical bills for all those involved, as well as counseling and other services that may prove necessary for survivors in the future.

The fund welcomes all contributions, however Pitt faculty and staff that wish to donate as part of the Pitt-specific campaign are encouraged to give via check or credit card donation, as those donations will have an immediate impact to this specific fund. Payroll deduction is available, but will be delayed based on disbursement of payroll funds in 2019.

Participation online or via pledge form will be counted as part of the Pitt United Way Campaign. Be sure to search for the “Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh Our Victims of Terror Fund” or code #14576474.
