The third week of October (Oct. 21-27) is National Retirement Security Week and the Office of Human Resources has programming designed specifically for helping employees raise their awareness of the importance of saving for retirement.
Whether you’re just starting out in your career or you’re thinking closely about retirement, it’s important to explore resources that help you to plan for a secure financial future. TIAA offers online and in-person resources to help you get started planning, including:
- Live webinars on financial literacy, including Postcards from the Future on Oct. 23 and Market-Proof Your Retirement on Nov. 1
- Retirement calculators and financial tools to help you evaluate your needs for retirement, create a budget, invest and more
- One-on-one consultations with a TIAA representative that can take place over the phone or at one of the five locations on the Pitt campus and are offered free of charge to faculty, staff and University retirees
- Write Your Own Financial Story, part of the Retirement Savings Plan at Pitt, can help you plan for all the chapters of your life.
These resources and more are available online at hr.pitt.edu and tiaa.org.
